School UniformsThe introduction of school uniforms in America's school districts has been a topic of heated debate for years. The uniforms contain violence and fighting, but they also take away the individuality of the students. Children have been killed because of what they wear, but you will still take away their right to choose what they want to wear. Both sides have equally balanced points. I think school uniforms should be used in local school districts because they are cheaper, make it easier for teachers to enforce dress codes, and prevent children from judging each other based on their appearance. A definite plus of having school uniforms in your school district is that they are less expensive than your usual clothes. As the mother of a 15-year-old daughter, Caryl Schweitzer, 52, says the uniforms may not be cheap, but they are worth the money spent because you only need to buy a few sets to last all year round. For parents, a typical uniform is cheaper than the ordinary, expensive, flashy clothes their children force them to buy in order to impress their friends at school. Many schools also agree that school uniforms are better than designer clothes because they are made to be washed and worn over and over again. They can also be found at a discount or passed down to younger siblings to avoid buying more. Buying a set of clothes for a school uniform will last weeks or even months longer than normal clothes. There is no need to buy more clothes than you will wear more than once in or out of school. School uniforms can be used over and over again as many times as needed, anywhere, and they will still last long enough to be passed down if they outgrow them.
