Essay / Montenegro Bridge - 910
When I think of my unforgettable experiences in Montenegro, there is always one image that comes to mind. This photo is the bridge in the river we were going to swim in. This bridge does not have a name, however, this does not diminish its importance to the residents who live in this area. It contains various historical facts, information and stories. Although it is too small to carry automobiles, it allows people to move from one city to another without having to drive there. Many people in Montenegro do not have a car or any other means of transportation. To get to the desired destination, they must therefore take the bridge. This bridge carried the farmers' cows and sheep and took them morning and evening to their pasture. Even though cars could not pass, horses carried produce across the bridge to nearby markets. The bridge helped people, animals and food get where they needed to go instead of taking to the streets and risking being robbed or hit. Things have changed since the construction of this seventy-year-old bridge. Nowadays, it is considered a historical site and a diving board for tourists and citizens. I noticed that the bridge and the landscape changed before my eyes over the years I visited it. I never thought it could change like this. Not so long ago, this bridge was the only means of transportation for the people of Montenegro. When I was younger, I remember the condition of the bridge was as if it had just been built. The screws were all in the right places, tight, and the metal was just starting to peel. After revisiting this location several times, I noticed distinct transitions. Years later I watched the transformation of the metal beginning to rust and peel. Along with this, the nuts and bolts slowly began to loosen due to erosion and time. I remember climbing the surrounding cliffs that led to the bridge and jumping off the bridge with the other kids. At that time it was easy. The rocks were, however, a little difficult to climb with the help of sneakers; this made the climb a little easier. The bridge was built on top of the rock, making it accessible to all thrill-seekers..
