    Every day, a large number of brutal crimes occur somewhere in America. Teenagers as young as thirteen commit murder, rape and, to some extent, burglaries. What can we do about it? The best answer I can think of is to treat minors like adults. They have as much responsibility and knowledge for their actions as adults, so they deserve the same punishment if they commit the same crime. Believe it or not, teenagers commit the same level of crimes as adults. Crimes will get even worse in the future if nothing is strictly done to curb unnecessary acts of violence. One idea to prevent crimes from continuing is to punish juveniles and adults equally. Punishments for juveniles do not carry the harsh consequences they deserve. There is a saying that compares children to adults. In this case, if minors want to behave like adults, then they must be treated like adults. Whether it seems true or not, young adolescents are just as dangerous as adults when it comes to crime. Juveniles only continue to commit serious crimes as they get older, thanks to a light sentence from which they benefit. The punishment inflicted on an adult is much more effective than that inflicted on a minor. The difference between an adult and a minor lies in their way of thinking. It is more than likely that an adult has a reason to commit their crime. A minor commits a crime for the attention and reputation as a bad boy. Personally, my opinion on this matter is actually that the harsher a punishment a juvenile receives, the more likely he is to learn his lesson. The sentencing of minors is a joke. It is not possible for an easy sentence to incite a minor to commit a crime; instead, he simply enjoys it. Whether it seems true or not, young adolescents are just as dangerous as adults when... middle of paper ... the best way to deal with this problem is to treat young criminals the way they deserve to be treated; like adults. Teenagers must be held accountable for their actions. If they commit an adult crime, it is necessary that they receive adult punishment.
