    All living beings have a goal or tendency in life. That of humans is much more complicated than that of animals and requires constant scientific and philosophical research, since this tendency can vary. Over the years, several philosophers like Aristotle have attempted to provide a definition of what makes us human. At the same time, many Ecuadorians wonder what it means to be mixed race and what consequences it brings us. The objective of this essay will be to try to define what makes us human, focusing on the texts of Bauman, Mill and Aristotle and also to try to answer the question about our ancestry. The definition that Aristotle wrote seems the most precise and logical. He said that everything tends towards good and that good is what all things tend towards. It tells us about goals and defines that they are activities that we carry out to achieve happiness. In summary, Aristotle tells us that everything a man does in life, every action he performs, will always aim to achieve good. By saying all this, we are in one way or another defining human identity, since, in essence, this is what humanity strives for, and according to Aristotle, it is good. (Aristotle, 1998: pp. 131-149) Human identity seeks goodness and happiness and that is why basically everything we do in life, everything we aspire for, studies, work, etc. . It is about obtaining a good economic status, and thus feeding oneself, enjoying luxury, new experiences, among others.
