  • Essay / A simple life is a better life - 530

    Stress is what the act of juggling gives you. Having so many commitments will make you forget to have time for yourself. Health, happiness and energy will plummet. Doing so much at once could literally cause your body to shut down or make it sick. I know this because I am a survivor. Even though I learned to balance and prioritize, the different teams I was a part of didn't want to let me go. I was an asset. So I had to learn to step away from one event at a time. I was working myself like crazy trying to sort out everything that was going on in my life. In my life, I need to continue to simplify my involvement in organizations because I can't not be truly engaged, happy and useful if I'm stressed. My goal to do it all started in 9th grade. I was new to high school and wanted to take risks and join clubs. I decided to join the drill team, step team, oratory club, and calculus club. I was able to maintain my grades while participating in all of these groups. My JROTC instructors observed how motivated and well-rounded I was and I was quickly promoted to staff.,...
