Ethics in the WorkplaceWhat are ethics? Is ethics a capacity that grows in us from childhood or do our parents teach us ethics? According to Dictionary.com, the word ethics means "the code of good conduct for an individual or group." Ethics also means, in simple terms, that ethics refers to standards of behavior that tell us how human beings should act in the many situations in which they find themselves - as friends, parents, children, citizens, businessmen, teachers, professionals, etc. on. There are many characteristics of ethics. There are good and bad ethics. But when sociologist Raymond Baumhart asks businessmen: “What does ethics mean to you?” According to him, the answers he received were as follows: "Ethics has to do with whether their feelings tell them what is right or wrong. Ethics has to do with their religious beliefs. Being ethical, it's doing what the law requires. Ethics are the standards of behavior that our society accepts, and I don't know what that word means” (Wallace, 1985) All of this could be true, but the word. “Ethical” is difficult to define and many views are quite shaky.
