    Drinking AlcoholPeople started drinking alcohol socially for fun years ago, but after experiencing the effects of alcohol and with the level of stress people face these days; alcohol consumption has become an addiction that, in some cases, is uncontrollable. Alcohol is also considered a drug, it is addictive and has many harmful effects. The main effect of alcohol consumption is to cause disease; this has many adverse effects on the organs of an alcoholic's human body and can lead to death in some cases. There are other health effects of alcohol, including: immediate effects and long-term effects. As I mentioned, addiction is one of the harmful effects of alcohol and can lead to loss of family members, jobs, and money if left untreated. Alcohol consumption is also very dangerous for pregnant women and has many harmful effects on women and their babies; some of these effects can be fatal. Withdrawal problems after stopping drinking alcohol are also serious and include symptoms such as nausea, anxiety and many others which will be discussed in the following paragraphs. The final effect of alcohol consumption that will be discussed in this essay is treatment; costs and efficiency. Alcohol consumption very negatively affects the body, mind and human life, just like drugs; alcoholics have to deal with the negative effects of drinking alcohol. The effects of alcohol are many and all bad. There is not a single positive effect of excessive drinking, except for what an alcoholic considers a pleasant feeling after getting drunk. Alcoholics drink for many reasons, but the results are all the same. Alcohol has very harmful effects on all organs of the human body; it causes illnesses and some of these illnesses are dangerous, even fatal, and the most common illnesses are paper illnesses...they are very expensive and detrimental to a person's financial future. DUIs result in high fees, court and legal fees, in some cases time spent in jail and possible job loss, higher insurance rates, and many other detrimental effects. Alcoholics may not realize all the harmful effects of drinking alcohol because it doesn't taste bad. while they drink it. Alcohol is addictive and once a person becomes addicted, it becomes very difficult to withdraw. Withdrawal and treatment are also difficult and very expensive. People should be more aware of this problem. Governments should also pass stricter laws regarding alcohol taxes and penalties for driving under the influence, or even the minimum amount of alcohol allowed to be consumed. The media and schools should also raise awareness so that alcoholics know more about the harmful effects of alcohol consumption on their body, mind and life..
