    Othello cannot receive sympathy from the audience because it takes it away from Desdemona, who deserves all our sympathy. Othello's choices are based solely on what he does not know for sure, which is why no sympathy can be felt for him. It is convincing that Othello is not in love with Desdemona simply because he was able to see her die by strangulation by her own hands, even though she begged him to let her live. Sympathy for Othello was eliminated after he struck and killed Desdemona, simply because he was
