  • Essay / What is the turning point in fashion in the 1920s

Every envisaged change that happens in our life has a purpose and an imminent conclusion. Some can last forever while others barely last a year. The 1920s, known as the "Roaring Twenties", were for many people a watershed moment in the evolution of a whole new way of life. Entertainment, fashion, employment, laws and technology appeared unexpectedly during this period. Almost each of these progressions continues to the present day, but in a more modernized tradition. These aspects determine who we are and illustrate society as a whole. The fashion revolution has had one of the most significant impacts on society today. Although the change has focused more on women's fashion, men's clothing style has also undergone some changes. Before the 1920s, dressing as conservatively as possible was every girl's first priority in order to maintain a respectable reputation. Seeing this as a lack of freedom, some girls began to rebel. As clothing loosened, shortened, and became more revealing, women presented themselves differently. They no longer had severe restrictions on what they wore and freedom slowly grew. Men's casual clothing in the 1920s was similar to what would be considered formal wear today. Loose silk dresses, fancy suits, feathers, sequences, strappy sandals, strappy bow ties and long pearly jewelry make up contemporary fashion that mainly reflects the style of the Roaring Twenties. Clothing changed the role that women played in the country, clarified that they have more freedom and indicated the social class to which one belongs. Sportswear has become a fashion change, especially for teenagers. Designers began creating less conservative sportswear with wool skirts. Women started...... middle of paper ...... faded pants ("1920s-inspired style for men"). The body shape given by “Oxford bags” gave men a physical appearance of strength. Today, wide-leg pants have become very common in women's fashion. A style that was once worn to represent manliness no longer has the same interpretation in today's generation. Fashion has been developing for as long as Earth has existed, but the style people follow today usually redirects towards what was brought up during the roar. twenties, the era of luxurious living. Women's clothing style will see many more changes in the future, which are expected to be less modest and conservative. Men, on the other hand, probably won't experience many changes. As fashion flourishes, society's image of women, as well as men, will renovate towards a more exposed mentality with a greater assortment of acceptance..
