Essay / Organizational behavior and Google communication
The two founders of Google met in 1995 at Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Larry Page described Google as “the perfect search engine that understands exactly what you mean and returns exactly what you want” (Google, 2012). According to Farfan (2014), Google signed the official incorporation documents in California on September 4, 1998. Before the company started, Larry and Sergy collaborated on a search engine for college servers called "BackRub", which decided to further develop the search engine, renaming their creation “Google”. Page and Brinn received their first investment check for $100,000 and opened an office in a garage in Menlo Park (Farfan, 2014). One of the main ways to generate revenue is through online advertising. The company took in a billion dollars from advertising in 2003 with profit margins of thirty percent (Caufield, 2005). Currently, Google performs over 200 million searches per day (2005). The founders of Google displayed ten business philosophies; one of which asserted that “you can make money without doing evil” (Google, 2012). Their advertising service displays are not flashy; they do not lead to any publicity and do not compromise this research integrity. Google has offices in over sixty countries, one hundred and eighty Internet domains, and searches in over one hundred and thirty languages (2012). Google therefore brings library value to the Internet. According to Caulfield (2005), the outline of the PageRank search method was created in early 1998, but the injection of venture capital, particularly the $25 million received in June 1999, gave Google the power to hire the best, to do research. , and to be implemented on a large scale. In contrast, libraries are mostly public institutions... middle of paper ... many conflicts are involved - in communication or in its values. ReferencesCaufield, J. (2005).
