Essay / Career Influences: I want to become a veterinarian
Ringo was a horse my parents gave me when I was about 13 years old. I was obsessed with horses and had to have one. My father grew up on a farm/ranch where he, his father, and his brother all used horses to work with their livestock and that lifestyle always interested me. Additionally, my cousin also encouraged me to become a veterinarian because she also owns livestock and I enjoyed going to her farm and helping her show livestock for the county fair. She plans to become a veterinary technician, so we both planned that I would open a veterinary hospital and she would be one of my lead veterinary technicians. Then there is my mother, she is the backbone and the one who pushes me to do my best and prioritize my life. She pushes me to save all my money to succeed in my career and to do my best not to live in debt. Other influences I have had throughout my life would be the recent job I had at a veterinary hospital where I walk and clean up after hospitalized animals and boarded animals. In addition to doing lower work, I may attend surgeries and hold pets during their vaccinations and nail trimming. It's an incredible experience that motivates me even more to work harder for my veterinary career according to age.
