Essay / A Message to Garcia Summary - 722
The story of Rowan delivering the mail to Garcia describes the importance of doing your job without making excuses. He makes it clear that in society, no matter how strong or weak the economy is, those who intend to take their work seriously, regardless, will prosper. One of the most common themes in life has always been “survival of the fittest”. When we relate this idea to school or our career, it is essential to stand out and work to your full potential to truly succeed. The author also uses the example of the man who had no value to anyone and who neither took nor received orders. The writer showed this example to describe a man who did not bring positive characteristics to the job market and found himself unemployed and roaming the streets looking for work. I believe Hubbard introduced this character to show that no one is responsible for our actions except ourselves and that we choose our own.
