Technology Business Opportunity for Homeschooling Over the past decade, the government has tried to fix public school systems in different areas, but has not been successful. Through the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act, the government is attempting to establish a national standard to ensure that every student receives the same level of education. The law took effect more than a decade ago and has shown little progress. President Bush established the law, but the current presidential administration has lost sight of the law. Through the use of video conferencing and podcasting, homeschooling can become a standardized program that has been statistically proven to be effective. The business opportunity can improve education to the quality level of a private school, but at a more affordable rate than a public school. TechnologyTechnology has advanced significantly over the past decade. Global growth in Internet access: from 250 million Internet users worldwide ten years ago to 2.08 billion Internet users in 2011. Currently, Internet video represents 40% of all consumer Internet traffic and will reach 62% by the end of 2015. The sum of all forms of video (television, video on demand [VoD], Internet and peer-to-peer [P2P] communications) will continue to represent approximately 90% of large traffic global audience by 2015. There is no doubt that technology is a major contributor to the changing educational landscape. Education Education has come a long way from blackboards to smartboards, from hardback books to e-books, and from word processors to the iPad. The goal of educators is to open up better opportunities for individuals and enable them to improve. Knowledge is power when applied.
