It has been talked about for years as an environmental concern not only in the United States, but throughout the rest of the world. Global warming. But is that really what people have been told their whole lives? Is it just a fluke of nature or caused by human hands? Is there any way to stop this from continuing? The world may never know. (Mr. Owl, Tootsie Pops). Global warming is interpreted in different ways depending on current views of society and the environment or the seasonal climate outside the front door. In recent years, global warming has not caused any concern, it has not even been recognized as a problem. In modern times, global warming has become a serious problem, especially as scientists continue to gather more information about its impacts. Despite these efforts, it still remains largely misunderstood due to the lack of long-term research. However, we know that global warming has significant impacts on the world, including increased intensity of heat waves, increased spread of diseases and melting of the polar ice caps (NASA). According to the United States International Document “Climate change, or global warming, refers to any significant change in measures of the Earth's climate, such as temperature, precipitation, or wind, that persists for decades or more” ( International Paper). It is a natural phenomenon in the world, and it is expected to happen. The climate warms up, the rain begins to fall faster before finally receding and becoming cooler again. If these changes did not occur, the ecosystem would develop resistance to the negative elements that affect it, thus changing the way different parts interact with each other.
