DiversityBehavior is best defined as an individual's unique behaviors, emotions, and thought processes, including how they interact with others. Although much behavior can be considered innate, there are also external factors that can impact an individual's behavior. These factors present diversities and demographic characteristics; four of these factors will be discussed in this article and the impact of each on individuals will be shown. Religion, personality traits, age and gender are thought to have the greatest impacts and therefore provide the best opportunities for discussion.ReligionSince the beginning of recorded history, individuals have held strongly to their religious beliefs and their right to practice their religion in their own way. Due to the presence of various religions in society, people have been hated and persecuted because of their religious choices. Examples of this hatred and persecution are the Nazi concentration camps where thousands of Jews were killed, the Crusades of the Middle Ages and, more recently, the terrorist attacks of September 11. Some may wonder what connection such disasters have with the practice of religious freedoms. ; the answer often lies in the influence of messengers or leaders of certain religious orders. Since many religious followers believe that their religious leaders; such as priests, rabbis, popes and prophets possess the true power of God, they go to great lengths to follow it. Since religion is often used to reinforce the cultural rules and values of society, religion ultimately sets the stage for individuals to achieve a sense of community and belonging. However, religion is not viewed positively by everyone; especially when religious practices tend to confuse...... middle of paper ...... the brain and the female brain are different in the areas that calculate mathematical equations. Since there is no evidence that there is a biological difference, it would appear that nurture versus nature may be the reason for these differences. It is common for parents to involve their daughters in dance classes, while their sons are encouraged to participate in aggressive sports activities such as football and soccer. Conclusion As discussed in this article, diversity consists of environmental and biological differences that can shape individual behavior. . It is also clear that it is often nurture and not nature that has the greatest influence on an individual's attitudes and personality. So, regardless of an individual’s religious beliefs, personality traits, age and gender; an individual's diversity can also be their strength if developed and maintained properly.
