    Child PsychologyIntroductionPsychology involves the study of the mental functioning and general behaviors of humans and animals. An individual's social behavior and mental functioning are explained by exploring neurological and physiological processes. These include emotions, cognition, perception, motivation, attention, brain functioning, and personality. Child psychology is also defined as the application of psychological techniques to children, where it involves research into the mental states and development of children. The child's development both physically, mentally and emotionally, with the help of a parent, helps identify useful information about any evolving challenges in the child's behavior and any developmental disabilities or disorders . Child psychology involves both developmental psychology and genetic psychology. It is where children live and respond to the circle of parenting and child-rearing (Piaget and Inhelder, 2000). Developmental psychology is the systematic study of psychological changes that explain all aspects of children's social and mental development from infancy to adolescence. Developmental psychology is a complex, ongoing process that progresses through stages that begin at birth and continue until death. A child's development mainly depends on prenatal care, physical, intellectual, social and language improvement. Mental growth progresses with the increase in knowledge that children are born with. Psychologists like Jean Piaget developed a procedure by which development occurs.
