The Influence of BasketballSports are often identified as having a positive influence on many individuals. The sports industry is growing worldwide, especially basketball, considered second only to football. The global prevalence of basketball is undeniable, especially among young people. Basketball is a dynamic team sport that involves a pattern of alternating, active, and skilled movement activities. There are complex requirements that require a mix of individual skills, team play, strategies and motivational aspects. On the surface, basketball has a number of impacts on young people. For example, boys and girls who participate in basketball acquire certain positive character traits. There is evidence to suggest that as a result of their participation, they have better school attendance, better grades associated with good behavior in school, and fewer problems and rarer disciplinary problems. Additionally, students also have better citizenship at school as well as within the community, and an orientation toward upward mobility, such as joining college later in life. Basketball has had a significant impact on society. In the NBA, teams bring out the nationalism within their city. Several cities have a national basketball team that represents them in the NBA. This in turn gives rise to healthy competition which paves the way for socialization, support and unity among individuals. NBA players can have a positive impact on individuals as well as an entire nation.
