Opening Statement: In this article I will discuss a research-based physical education curriculum known as SPARK PE SPARK stands for Sports, Play, Active, Recreation, for Kids and it strives to help improve the lives of youth and adolescents through exercise and fun activities. I will discuss the goals of SPARK, the positives of the program, and details of some of the packages they offer to schools and various after-school programs. The SPARK PE program is a physical education lesson program designed for everyone. students to enjoy physical education and improve a child's overall health and well-being. This is a research-based program from San Diego State University that strives to improve the health of everyone, not just children. The program has been in use for over twenty years and has been tested and improved by SDSU researchers. The program helps children, adolescents and adults by delivering evidence-based physical education to instructors in classrooms and after-school programs. The program is very effective because it includes a curriculum that is inclusive of all students and can be completed by all students in the class. The program includes activities designed for all levels, from kindergarten to 12th grade. There are many variations of the SPARK PE program that can meet the needs of almost everyone. The company can also accommodate very specific program requests if a school desires. There are two different versions of the program; online and offline. The offline version comes in printed workbooks with instructions for games, activities, and even complete lesson plans. The offline version also includes all the equipment needed for the games and ...... middle of paper ...... everything it strives to do by providing fun and interesting games that everyone everyone can play and participate. I would highly recommend this program to any school or group needing a fun and entertaining program for their students and will also consider using the program when I become a physical education teacher.
