Essay / A Letter of Intent: Physician
In my corner of the world, it's very common for parents to prepare their children for careers like medicine, law, and engineering because they view these careers as a map escape from poverty. These were the lines I followed growing up, my mother thought I would make a good doctor, because of my patience and compassion. As I grew older and my thinking skills developed, I quickly realized that I was not passionate about a career in medicine. From childhood I was good at technical drawing and felt delighted with my A3 paper, Clutch pencil and mobile drawing board and always looked forward to drawing lessons. Say no to plagiarism. Get an original essay With my limited knowledge of possible future careers, I never thought of architecture as a suitable career path, I thought I would probably end up studying an engineering course, but as fate would have it, during my second year of high school we moved to a new neighborhood and in our neighborhood mosque there was a model on the scale of the proposed worship center. The mosque has become my favorite place. I would sit for hours after Jumma marveling at this masterpiece in a closed glass case. It was during one of my mosque visits that an older worshiper, who had noticed me earlier, engaged me in a discussion about my fascination with scale models and introduced me to architecture . At that moment, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life. Studying architecture at university would have to be among the best experiences that have shaped my life. And if this taught me anything, it’s that architecture is a very powerful tool for shaping and directing cultural discourse. The world of the 21st century is plagued by several problems, and the one that concerns me the most is “global warming”. As an architect, I believe that design practices should be a tool to disseminate information about global warming, encouraging clients and building users to embrace architecture in its pure form without disturbing nature, such as integrating sufficient natural light and ventilation system to reduce reliance on mechanical lighting modes and much more. Even though I have completed five years of undergraduate studies, I still have a lot to learn. Additionally, the essence of travel can never be overstated for an architect, so the opportunity to study in a different country, under a different climate and culture is an experience I look forward to. The desire to explore how science and technology can be used to improve building performance, both socially and environmentally, in developing countries also provides a spark of interest for my academic research. I am particularly interested in the field of architecture, because I believe that I would shape my immediate environment in my own way with my practices. I am a sports enthusiast, with cricket being my favourite; I also love reading “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, which made me believe that if you want to achieve something, the entire universe will conspire with you to get it. “The Immortals of Meluha” by Amish, a series of Indian writers, are my addictions, because through these books I came across a gifted artist in the fight of good against evil, Dr. “Wings of Fire ” by APJ Abdul Kalam reinforced my belief that hard work and perseverance are the keys to success and that background doesn't really mean anything when you have dreams.
