As a Chinese student born in the United States, I think it is important to learn about the two cultures I grew up in. My childhood was spent in a Chinese-speaking household, but many of our traditions are no longer practiced since my parents started. Americanize their way of life. I hope to gain knowledge from both backgrounds and apply it to building relationships with people from different cultures. The Chinese Summer Language, Culture and Technology Initiative (CSLCTI) in Hangzhou, China is a wonderful program that provides students like me with the opportunity to have a life-like experience. study abroad and which promises to be an enriching experience. This is an incredible opportunity to study renewable energy while being exposed to Chinese language, culture and student life. Participating in this program will prepare me as a senior for the college-level language course, AP Chinese.
