Gangs emerged in the mid-1800s in the Cardinal direction, using them as a method of defending themselves against outsiders. The idea of gangs has become popular, powerful, and widely influential. But like all powers, they tend to corrupt and view violence as a way to get what they want faster than other methods. They turn violence into entertainment, profit and control. Creating a situation that affects young people in today's society. After the American Revolution in 1783, gangs began to appear. In 1826, the Northeast region was the first to have a well-organized gang formed in the Rosana Peer Green Grocery in New York. Shortly after African American and Latino migrants, black gangs began to appear in the 1950s, as well as the emergence of non-Puerto Rican Asian gangs in the 1980s. In Chicago's Midwest region, white immigrants developed street gangs including Irish, Germans, and Lithuanians to terrorize African American communities, which became a race riot. Mexican-American gangs quickly became popular in the 1950s. In the 1970s, street gangs emerged in working-class neighborhoods in California. In the 1980s, gangs began dealing in crack cocaine trafficking and use. The southern region had no gang-type activity, only in Miami and San Antonio in 1980. According to statistics, the city's criminal street gangs have a total of 65,271 members, with an increase of 242 in March 1998. Approximately 34% of deaths between 2010 and 2011 and a total of 32,000 gun deaths per year in the United States.
