    World War I and World War II During the 1900s, two wars broke out between the nations, World War I and World War II. These wars brought famine, death by debt and even freedom. Although some results were the same, they were fought with very different war tactics. World War I was caused by one major factor, the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand. This happened on June 28, 1914. He was the Archduke of Austria-Hungary (Hartford). While World War II was caused by an agreement between the United States, France, England and Italy. This agreement obliged Germany to pay all war damages in countries affected by World War I (arms). The First World War spread to many countries: Austria-Hungary, Russia, Germany, France, Great Britain, the United States and Belgium. The leaders of nations allied themselves with each other (the United States along with France, Great Britain, Russia, Italy and Japan, they were also known as the Allied Powers). During the Allied Powers' arrangements to ally themselves, Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey became the opposing forces known as the Central Powers (World War I and II). World War I lasted four years, from 1914 to 1918, and caused millions of deaths from the weapons used. The soldiers of the two opposing forces dug zigzag trenches to protect themselves. be slaughtered on level ground.
