Essay / Yuba-Sutter Area Air Quality - 1149
Poor air quality has plagued several cities around the world in recent years. This is an important environmental issue that deserves to be addressed because it is important to our health. Local areas are particularly vulnerable to these horrific conditions due to their small size. The Yuba-Sutter region has faced this environmental problem for several years. This is a recurring problem that seems to affect our area every year, especially during the warm months. Some years are better than others, but it's still an issue that needs to be addressed. Solving a problem as big as this is not an easy task, but with the help of the community, anything can be possible. These conditions can last for days until the fire is extinguished. Living in this unhealthy air can have detrimental effects on our health. Although this problem has lessened over the years, it is still an issue that should not be taken lightly. When the air is bad, health problems appear. People with and without asthma have difficulty breathing in these circumstances and may even need medical help if exposed to air for long periods of time. For example, the Feather River Air Quality Management District commented on smoke from two local wildfires: "The very small particles in the smoke can irritate the lungs of even healthy people, but are particularly dangerous for the elderly, children...... middle of paper ... and who will do it? If we want clean and healthy air, we must make this statement clear to those who affect our air quality. We need to become more aware of our air and make the right decisions that will only benefit our air and the community.
