  • Essay / Personal Narrative Essay: A Trip to Cooper's Rock

It was Monday, September 21, cloudy skies and good weather. I suggested to my friends that we go to Coopers Rock, have a good time and do my dissertation. I had good memories at Coopers Rock, two years ago we would go to Coopers Rock every month with my friends on the weekend to grill and play football. we packed our picnics and drinks and headed to Coopers Rock. The view around the highway in I (68) is so beautiful that it begins to leave you thinking about what Coopers Rock used to look like. We arrived at Coopers Rock after 25 minutes. We sat on the grass first, but there were a lot of insects crawling around us so we went to the shelter to continue our picnic. The shelter was so beautiful, the design made you feel like you were in the middle of the forest, it had grills on it and wifi. We take out the tools from the shelter and start walking in the forest to explore the surroundings. There were a lot of interesting things, there was camping, hiking and cycling. There were a few people around, some were walking, taking photos with each other, the hawks were flying and their voice was so clear that you could hear it. When you see them flying, you feel how free they are and wish to be free like the birds. We saw some squirrels on the tree, they looked nice especially when walking around in the ground. It was the first time I heard a squirrel's voice, its voice was close to that of ducks. At Coopers Rock there is a specific place or small road to cycle, this allows you to go around and into the forest. The challenge we faced was that when the road went uphill, it made us barely breathe and felt our leg muscles blocked. So we stopped cycling and returned to the shelter. we were hungry so we started to eat our snacks and drink our tea and coffee but half an hour later we were asked to find somewhere else as the shelter was booked. We left the shelter to reach the grass so that we could continue our walk.
