Living in America, we have the freedom to practice whatever faith we choose, but at the same time, that does not give us the right to violate our laws or organize, to finance or develop a group whose motivations are to attack and destroy the country of which they claim to be citizens, while practicing that faith or religion. According to a report by the RAND Corporation, “46 cases of radicalization and recruitment for jihadist terrorism were reported in the United States between September 11 and the end of 2009” (Jenkins). Young men and women are accused of wanting to harm innocent American citizens and destroy the United States, all by proclaiming themselves Islamic soldiers and dying as martyrs for Islam.
