Essay / New Meaning in Brave New World - 903
New Meaning in Brave New WorldThe motto of Brave New World was “Community, Identity and Stability”. In the following essay, the actual meaning of these terms will be discussed. The term “Community” really does not have the meaning we are used to hearing and talking about these days (1996). Instead, it almost means a lack of "Community", meaning there is no choice as to where one fits into the "Community", instead, you are assigned your place in society and as a person even before production (natural birth is non-existent). I will never know what the differences are between being an Alpha or a Gamma. A person in the community is shared by all members of the "Community", everyone belongs to everyone, each person is sexually shared with each other, and there is no emotional connection because we are engendered not to have them. The term “Identity” is a comprehensive term. the opposite of how we are used to seeing and feeling him, that is, he is non-existent, no one has feelings, and no one possesses any of his personal characteristics, they are all the same. If a person tried to find their own identity, they were looked down upon and had to take a soma vacation (soma was a legal drug that removed all feelings or individualized ideas from a person). Soma holidays were a way for everyone to avoid having to deal with something unpleasant or to have a good time. The "stability" in "Brave New World" is another kind of "stability", the "stability" in "Brave New World" is economic stability, clothes were not to be mended, but to new ones had to be purchased to support economic stability and growth It was not allowed to produce or purchase anything that did not cost a lot and did not require money to keep it in good working order If the society. left cheap things on the market or if things were easily repaired, which would happen to the vast economic society, it would crack and eventually fall to the ground with a deafening crash The entire society of "Brave New World" was based. only on science and technology and not on the social aspect of people, personal freedoms and feeling different from one's peers Science and technology were not only the basis of their being, and the. The way they lived them was also the only reason why life seemed so different from how it is today. (1996).
