Bush has a ton of credibility as the President of the United States of America, his speech has an ethos because of it. One day when everyone was listening to this speech, everyone was listening and believing what President Bush was saying. He responded to this tragic event by saying, "America has defeated its enemies before, and we will do it this time." None of us will ever forget this day, but we move forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world. Every word he said in his speech carried a lot of weight, but when he ended his speech with those words, America knew it would recover from this tragic event. At that point, George Bush had no way of knowing who did it or why, but he knew how to do it and remained calm throughout his tenure as president. In this specific situation, George Bush was very important to his country and everyone wanted to hear what he had to say.
