This article will discuss three different religions that a healthcare provider may care for in the nursing field. It will cover the spiritual perspective, as well as the essential elements of healing, such as prayer and meditation. The author will give a brief summary of the beliefs of each religion. The three religions discussed in this article are Native American, Hinduism, and Buddhism. This article will discuss what is important to people who are cared for by a healthcare provider of a particular faith, who may have an entirely different belief system. The author will discuss how a patient may perceive a health care provider who sets aside their own beliefs for the sake of the beliefs and practices of the patient being treated. The author of this article is of Christian belief and will compare his faith and healing beliefs with the three religions previously mentioned. Spiritual Perspective and Elements of Healing Native American medicine may be 40,000 years old. This culture did not develop written language, so there was no documentation of Native American medicine until Europeans arrived about 500 years later. Native American medicine believes that humans are part of nature and that health is a matter of balance. Ceremonial and Ritual Medicine is the largest surviving piece of Native American medicine. Native American medicine is based on a belief system that is both curative and curative. Balance is the key to health which is linked to lifestyle and social connections. For healing to take place, the individual must seek out the healer because he holds the power to heal. The healer will then decide which technique they will use to heal the individual based on the situation. It may be in the middle of the document.
