The trend of body modifications, including tattoos, piercings or plastic surgery, has become very popular in our society today. The growing demand for any type of body modifications makes me really curious about why people change their physical appearance temporarily or permanently. From what I already know, celebrities and idols get tattoos or plastic surgery to appear a certain way to the general public. They are considered more attractive in the public eye and set a trend for how men and women should look in society. Dramas and shows sometimes portray a person considered to have below average appearance as the victim of bullying. This person will try by all means to appeal to society and gain the respect of society.
