Since teenage drivers are often discriminated against due to their driving skills, improvements are being explored. A survey published today on newsstands reveals that “61% of teenagers admit to having risky driving habits” (“Teens Risky Driving” 1). Between adolescent immaturity and lack of driving skills, disasters continue to happen. Although most teenagers believe that their driving is becoming safer, this is a lie. States are taking matters into their own hands by imposing curfews on adolescents; Fourteen states have set limits on the number of passengers that can be allowed in the vehicle accompanied by young drivers. Although teens take tests and programs before becoming fully licensed, they are not fully prepared; therefore, adolescents cause dangerous events.
