  • Essay / The Last Americans: Environmental Collapse and the End...

The Mayans didn't grow up with technology, they grew up using instinct. The way the Mayans grew their crops was done entirely by their hands. The Mayan people did not use any wild animals such as ox, bull or caribou. The work they did was all about the muscles. Not only was the Mayan civilization not polluted, but its population was not massive either. They had a decent number of people. They had to balance their water and food intake because the weather was bipolar. The weather would be hot for four months and rainy for six to eight months. People had to figure out how to save enough water during the hot season and how to preserve their crops during the rainy season. Somehow the Mayans knew the environment better than humans.
