    IntroductionIn an academic environment, it is an excellent setting for many individuals to come together and form new groups, whether for social or task-oriented purposes . This provides individuals with a great opportunity to develop and grow over time with others, while navigating the challenges of post-secondary education. This article will focus on a group called "The Lifesavers" and examine the behavior of the members of each group and how they develop throughout Dr. Peter K. Papadogiannis' Psych 3340 course. The group started with 5 members and has grown into a very diverse group as each member of the group is different in terms of age, gender, ethnicity and major at York University. Member A is 26 years old/South Korean/psychology major, Member B is 25 years old/Scottish-English/psychology, Member C is 21 years old/Italian/criminology, Member D is 20 years old/Chinese-Vietnamese/ psychology, and information about the last member (E) was unknown since only the name and contact details were given.Norm DevelopmentThe group "The Lifesavers" is quite unique in terms of formation and structure. The standards were already being developed on the first day of class when all members were united by a list that constructed our group by the first letter of our last names. When asked about their personal information and contact details, members of each group were hesitant, gave little information about themselves, and only shared their email address to contact other group members . One of the few norms developed by group members was to come together for group work/discussion at the end of each class and share responsibility for completing the group task on time.
