  • Essay / The Benefits of Renewable Energy Resources - 1838

“When it comes to renewable energy, there is no reason for America to settle for second best” (Martin Heinrich) . The United States must do what is best for the country and must never settle for second best, because second best will ultimately become more costly than first. Solar energy, hydroelectricity, nuclear energy, wind energy and biomass energy are all renewable energy resources. They come from resources naturally replenished thanks to the sun, wind, rain and plant waste and are used to produce electricity. The use of renewable resources for electricity has been used for many years, and year after year it becomes more advanced and more beneficial to the United States. Solar energy refers to energy obtained by harnessing the energy of the sun's rays. Hydroelectric power or hydroelectricity relates to or refers to the production of electricity using flowing water (usually from a reservoir retained behind a dam or other barrier) to drive a turbine that powers a generator. Nuclear energy is the energy released during nuclear fission or fusion, especially when used to generate electricity. Biofuel is a fuel derived directly from living matter. Wind power is when energy is obtained by harnessing the energy of the wind to create or produce electricity. The United States is always looking for ways to improve the economy and environment so that today's society and future generations can prosper. Solar energy, hydropower, wind energy, biomass energy and nuclear energy are the best renewable resources of electricity for environmental and economic purposes. Solar energy is a renewable electricity resource that best suits our environmental and economic goals.
