Since the creation of the first video games in the early 1960s, video games have become increasingly popular as leisure activities. Around 98% of children aged 6 to 15 in the UK and over 69% of Americans play video games (Stang et al., 2007). There is some history about video games being online games that were popular in the 1980s. and the 1990s was a decade of marked innovation in video gaming. It was a decade of transition from raster to 3D graphics and gave rise to several genres of video games, including first-person shooter and real-time strategy. Apart from this, we can also play video games on our mobile phone. By the early 2000s (decade), mobile games had gained popularity in Japan's mobile culture, years before the United States or Europe. By 2003, a wide variety of mobile games were available on Japanese phones, ranging from puzzle games and virtual animal titles using camera phone technologies and fingerprint scanners to 3D games with graphics of PlayStation quality. There are multiple ways to define a game which is an electronic or computer game played by manipulating an image on a video, game or television screen. For most young people, playing games on a computer, video game console or handheld device is just part of the day. These games are fun and engaging and young people often feel that playing games is a good thing to do in their free time. We should not spend too much time playing games because it can give us negative effects, but we should not stop everything either, just reduce a little and try to allocate your extra free time by doing the things that are good for you. As for the child, parents should help their children find a good way to give them the advantages when playing video games.
