Elvis Presley Essay When historians examine history and why society has changed, many focus on conflicts like wars, civil rights, and poverty. However, there is much more that has changed America over time. One of the most influential subjects that contributed to this change was Elvis Presley. Thanks to his music, influenced by black artists, he allowed white Americans to discover a new group of artists. He tested social boundaries which helped him change American culture. Her appearance and singing would eventually change the world of teenagers by introducing new trends in fashion and music. Presley is the reason we have Rock-N-Roll. As a businessman and singer, he brought America together into a new type of society; so he is one of the main reasons why America became what it is today. Elvis Presley is considered the king of Rock-N-Roll. At the time, Elvis didn't realize how it would entirely affect the country. A month after the Supreme Court's decision, Brown v. Board, Elvis would be signed to a producer and change so many things in his music, dancing and clothing. New marches would form and teenagers would begin to adopt them. Different appearances on talk shows and concerts could be seen on the street and at school on young adolescents. Teenagers aged ten to eighteen were drooling over Presley, which caused great controversy. Elvis' lyrics on his songs weren't bad but just something that would make listeners dance and have fun. His music was the first thing that caught the attention of Americans. BB King once said that Elvis was "a white man but he looked black." It was true. Elvis' music was a blend of African-American blues, Christian gospel, and Southern country. Elvis, ...... middle of paper ...... their children to listen to or watch Elvis Presley for any reason. This caused some problems in family life. Children are bitter and adults become angry with their children. The children rebel and some even sneak out more often. Elvis would eventually change family life and family life through his dancing and music. Although many people think of Elvis Presley as just an entertainer, Elvis was much more than that. He wanted to change America through his music and dance. That’s exactly what he did, but also so much more. He helped shape our country to be more open on many different topics. Elvis is the reason we have Rock-N-Roll and might also be the reason we have newer music today. Elvis would have had a huge impact on our society and would change the way adults perceived things. It sparked tensions and a lot of controversy but that's what it takes to generate change.
