In The Metamorphosis, they use a bug in their story, it is clearly stated as a "monstrous verminous bug" (Kafka). They portray Gregor as this terrible, disgusting insect, treated like a worthless person shortly after losing his job by his own family. When this happens, Gregor's family wants to remove him from the house, it is Grete who convinces the family that they should get rid of Gregor. For example: “we must try to get rid of it” (Kafka). Grete calls Gregor “it” and no longer her brother. Gregor for the family was considered nothing, they did not want to deal with anything that evolved him. Then the family pushes the boundaries towards Gregor until he dies. Even at the end of the story, the family wants to forget Gregor completely, so they move away from where they lived before.
