The practices and beliefs of Buddhism have evolved greatly since its founding by Gautama Siddhartha, an ancient prince of India who left his country in search of answers. Buddhism originated in India, the religion began around 500 BCE. Buddhism is made up of the teachings of the Buddha, who believed more in a moral code than in a religion. Buddhism follows the law of Karma, which means that a person's actions accumulate based on the moral foundation they stand on. The Buddha, Gautama Siddhartha, was dissatisfied with his surroundings and wanted to find the answers of existence. Siddhartha wandered for six years and during this time he attained enlightenment. However, Gautama was unwilling or unwilling to share the teachings and wisdom he had acquired during this 6 year journey, but he was convinced by someone called the Brahman Sahamatpati. The Buddha known by his real name as Gautama Siddhartha, spread and preached the teachings and wisdom in several cities of India. What Gautama taught was what was explained as “the Four Noble Truths”. The Four Noble Truths are based on the suffering of man, closely following the Eightfold Path. These four noble truths are: 1. The truth of suffering. 2. Truth about the cause of suffering. 3. Truth of the cessation of suffering. 4. The Truth of the path, which is the Eightfold Path and the final noble truth. What exactly do these truths mean? Well, the truth about suffering is the idea that all types of physical and mental suffering are constantly present in our daily lives. The second truth, the truth about the cause of suffering is the idea that the desire for something is what causes suffering, such as the desire for material objects, pleasant experiences and eternal lives, the primary cause of desire is ignorance, mainly ignorance... middle of paper ... attaining enlightenment and being free from the wheel of life, death and rebirth, known as Samsara.
