Most of the time, a person's cultural disengagement does not tend to be resolved. I was actually surprised by this result because I thought I scored lower on cultural disengagement. The definition of unresolved cultural disengagement is when one experiences a lack of involvement in the core aspects of a cultural community because I don't think I know much about my culture. One of the reasons is that Malaysian culture is a combination of at least three cultures. These cultures may include Chinese, Indian, Malay, and these cultures are also different in East Malaysia. As a result, Malaysian culture is a combination of these cultures. I don't know this Malaysian culture because I have been exposed to a Chinese culture more than other cultures. There are certain cultural differences within Chinese culture. As my family is predominantly Hokkien, we celebrate the fifteenth day of Chinese New Year, something other Chinese cultures rarely observe these days. However, we do not celebrate in the same way as other Hokkiens because the rituals go against Christian teaching. At the same time, I haven't had much exposure to other cultures since I didn't attend Malaysian public schools for most of my life. I was only exposed for the first 7 years of my life, but I was more exposed to Indian and Chinese culture in the last 11 years before I came to America. I believe the main culture I was in
