The Rise of EminemMarshall Mathers is one of the best rap artists and the most recognized artist in the world. His albums now sell over a million copies for each album he releases. In this article, I will explain how he rose to the top of the rap world, as well as the struggles and hard work he put into rap. Eminem grew up in Detroit and was always going anywhere he was getting beaten up and made fun of for being white in a black community. (Simon& Schuster& Evan) When he was in 7th grade at school, he got into a fight with a child and was hit in the head and put in a coma for 10 days. Eminem later wrote a song about the incident and the child who hit him attempted to press charges against Eminem for the song. The song is called Bully. It's a good song about how he would be picked on and harassed. Another incident that happened regarding one of his songs happened when he released the song my mother. It was a rap about her mother and her doing drugs and Eminem talking about killing her. He also blamed him for his behavior and his shitty childhood. There have been many incidents where Eminem's mother took him to court for the stupidest reasons, trying to get her hands on his money. Every time she took him to court, she never won. (Salonee Shah) In the movie Marshall Bruce Mathers, they interviewed people who knew Eminem on a personal level. In the film, one of Eminem's friends said that at one point he was dating Kim, his now ex-girlfriend. He said they stayed at his house because of the argument Eminem and his mother had. He said that as they stayed there each night, he could hear screaming and other noises. In the interview he said he walked a little in front of the looks and saw Kim pushing and slapping him....... middle of paper ...... and not being afraid by Eminem. When he was thin and shady, he seemed to be afraid of many things, such as not being able to succeed or live without drugs. Eminem changed the rap industry by becoming one of the best rap artists in the world. He surprised everyone with how his popularity skyrocketed. He proved that rap is not just a black pastime. Even though Eminem attempted suicide, became addicted to drugs, and had a crappy family life, he is still hugely successful. Even though he made a lot of mistakes, I think people can still admire him. He is one of those people who strives to be the best and won't stop until he is. He started out as a simple white boy in the Detroit ghetto, then being able to go wherever he wanted and traveling to most states across the country for gigs. He is truly a successful rap artist and he made something from nothing..
