Essay / Great Apes Essay - 1127
Genetically, we are almost identical. They are valuable to the environment and, therefore, humans, as they maintain forest species, which generate income, food and medicine for local communities. Great apes do not have a fair chance of surviving with low reproductive rates during an increase in commercial hunting. This is too much, without accounting for other forms of habitat disturbance occurring simultaneously. Campaign groups must persist in their efforts to protect primates and educate not only those intimately affected by this problem, but also the global community as a whole. By raising awareness on a broader platform, more people will be informed and want to take action to help save our great apes and, in turn, our planet.
