Essay / Cape Breton Highlands National Park - 839
Somewhere in Nova Scotia, there is a magnificent park with fascinating landscapes. It's on an island surrounded by bodies of water that sparkle like crystals when the sun shines on them. This park must be a creation of Aphrodite and it is also known as the Cape Breton Highlands Park. It is located in Chéticamp and Ingonish on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Its area is 949 km². Although it is quite small, it offers the best views shown on my poster. In my poster, I drew some animals representing the wildlife of the park. This island has about 40 different species of land mammals like white-tailed deer, snow hare, and the animals I drew on the poster like moose, black bear, and coyote. Exclusive animals including the Canadian lynx, the rock vole and the Gaspé shrew because they are in danger. I drew a hawk on the right side of the cliff to represent the different bird species. Seabirds include gulls, cormorants and guillemots; forest birds include many songbirds, grouse, bald eagles, owls and, as shown in my poster, hawks as well. Cape Breton doesn't have many reptiles and amphibians because it is isolated and cold. I drew a green frog on the rock and a garter snake because these are the most common reptiles and amphibians. In my poster you can see a man fishing at the end of the cliff but his fish is empty, this is because Cape Breton is home to many fish so it will be a mystery. You can find brook trout, Atlantic salmon and other freshwater fish at the lake. In the ocean you can find Atlantic cod and different species of sharks like the blue shark and the basking shark. And of course, like any other park, there are also a lot of pests. You can find different types of invertebrates in the park like periwinkles, crabs, thorns...... middle of paper ......st for example it is illegal to collect plants and disturb animals , nature must be left in its original place. There were actually people in this park and farmers too, but now they are gone and its area is mostly forest, although it is still healing from farms. Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a beautiful place and should be respected.
