Setting: Where and When the Story Takes Place The story takes place in Philadelphia during the years following the Revolutionary War. Philadelphia was the capital of the United States at that time and the time period of the book is from August to November, 4 months, in 1793. The main character usually spends his days at the families' Cook Coffeehouse, located on the ground floor. pavement. corner of Seventh and Grand Street. She's surrounded by the town she loves, with horses and carriages, small businesses, and friendly neighbors (and their pets) going about their daily lives. Main Character: Personality, character traits of the main character and a description of their appearance (how they look). Remember that these can be found through direct and indirect characterization (actions, looks, things they say, things others say about them, etc.). Fourteen-year-old Matilda (Mattie) Cook is the teenage protagonist of the story. She lives in Philadelphia with her mother and grandfather. Being a normal teenager, she sleeps late, is rather mean to her mother and has important responsibilities. Mattie is usually very rude, especially when she is told to do something. In the book, Mattie's appearance is not described much in the book. The only thing he mentions is the fact that she has long straight hair and tends to wear long skirts. Otherwise, there is ...... middle of paper ...... in and weak. He had bruises and scars, but what really hurt her was the feeling of loss, especially of someone she loved the most. Her grandfather died right next to her and that's where this feeling of pain, anger, sorrow, fear4 hurts her the most. Although it will take her a long time, I believe she will become stronger as a person through such sadness. We should always try to feel strong when we are suffering.Recommendation: Would you recommend this book to a friend? For what? Who (a specific group of people)? I thought Fever was an excellent book. It was inspiring, interesting, exciting and intriguing. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good kind of historical fiction. I think this book is good for kids at least 13 years old simply because it's a little more advanced and you really have to concentrate to get it and even understand it..
