Every person has a different idea of what it means to be successful. After talking to my family and a few friends, I know that I have several strengths and weaknesses. I know I will face opportunities and threats. Also, I know I will have competitors. In this competitive business world, understanding what is truly valuable to me is a major step towards achieving my goal. My strengths are my languages, technological skills, education, work ethic and ability to follow instructions. My weaknesses are my communication skills, lack of American culture and professional experience. Growing job demand, globalization and the expansion of the accountant role are three major opportunities in the accounting field. Information technology, recession uncertainty and starting salary are 3 major threats to my financial success. I will compete against all the major accounting competitors in the Midwest. My goal is the final destination of my financial success. It's being able to pay my bills without worry, being debt free, having enough money for my children to go to college, and helping other people with my financial resources. As a KU graduate student, I will be competing with all accounting graduate students. of the Midwest for the next 20 or 30 years. The KU business school has the best reputation in the Midwest, so I have a better educational advantage over my competitors. In this case, I can easily get promoted. Compared to my competitors, my strengths are my languages, technology skills, education, work ethic, and ability to follow instructions. The first strength I know is that I speak three different languages. Plus, I have decent tech skills. I have a great education from KU.
