    This gas is commonly thought of by the medical term "laughing gas", used to put patients in a state of euphoria to ease their pain during procedures. However, this gas also contributes to the increasing level of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. In fact, “compared to carbon dioxide, its capacity per gas molecule to trap heat in the atmosphere is 298 times greater” (nitrogen oxide). Much of this is also due to human actions. “Nitrous oxide is emitted during agricultural and industrial activities, as well as during the combustion of fossil fuels and solid waste” (Greenhouse Gas Overview). This is just another example of how we as humans are slowly destroying our Earth. We emit this gas, nitrous oxide, into the Earth's atmosphere only for it to trap heat and warm our planet.
