Essay / Personal case study of a child with frequent physical problems...
An ASQ:SE was provided for Mao (father) and Kim (mother) to complete so that the main issues of concern could be established. The score was 120 with a cutoff of 58. A score at this point would indicate Quan is at risk. When a child is found to be at risk, they are usually referred to Child Find so that appropriate resources can be provided. When parents completed the ASQ:SE, they indicated a specific behavior that they found to be concerning. These include the way he destroys objects and he frequently displays physical and verbal aggression. These were also concerns the preschool teacher had about Quan. The mother also has concerns about family routines. She has difficulty getting Quan into his crib at bedtime when asked. He still sleeps in a crib and refuses to go in when asked. Quan's mother also said he would not listen or sit still when they were eating out. He won't stay in his high chair and is a finicky eater. Additionally, Quan's teacher, assistant, and mother completed a functional assessment interview form. As a result, specific behaviors were addressed that were relevant to all respondents.Section A of the Functional Assessment Interview FormBehavior How long does it last? How often? How long?
