Local Connections: Tenneco Inc. WorldwideTenneco Incorporation has a colossal presence across the globe. They are a Fortune 500 company that also has a few locations around Toledo (“Tenneco”). Tenneco continues to grow and now has locations around the world with 89 factories and facilities in over 100 different countries (“Manufacturing”). The company does many things around the world that help many people and make our world a better place to live. It helps keep the environment clean, as it is a leader in clean air and driving performance in the automotive industry while providing jobs to people around the world (“Profile”). We also know an employee of Tenneco Inc. who can give us some insight into the company. He worked at a Toledo area facility until his promotion and transfer to Europe. Throughout the following pages, we will discuss the good and bad effects of capitalism and the different ways in which Tenneco is involved in our capitalist society.
