She said that during this time, she longed to meet people and establish a strong group of friends as well as a network that would boost her career. She was able to find identities and was ready to form committed relationships. This is how she met Richard White, her husband. As Erikson projected in his theory, once identities are established, marriage and close relationships are concluded, and emotional bonds develop that may require sacrifice and other demands. And that's what happens to these two loving couples. In terms of growth and physical development, Ruth was in the prime of her life.
