Essay / Methods and Theories of Maria Montessory - 600
The philosopher I have chosen to talk about in this essay is Maria Montessori. Maria Montessori's method and theory inspired me a lot, any child would love to come to school because it is a place where they can work in their own environment. The Montessori franchise is a worldwide success. Montessori schools offer a carefully prepared environment. It also provides children with the opportunity to grow intellectually and emotionally. Maria Montessori cared very much about children and their education. One of her quotes that got me interested in talking about her in this essay is “Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us because of their innocence and the greater possibilities of their future” . The foundation of the Maria Montessori method is respect for the child as a worthy individual, engaged in tasks and growing into a mature adult. Maria Montessori, the name comes from the women who developed the theory and method. She is the first female doctor in Italy who ended up working with children through observations with children, and developed this different method and this philosophical idea of teaching. This is based on the fact that she believed and understood that children should be active and use their hands when learning, it is more effective. This way, they learn best when they are interested in the material and the subject. When Montessori graduated from the University of Rome in 1896, she continued to do her research at this university clinic. She also worked voluntarily as an assistant there, her job requiring her to visit asylums in Rome where she witnessed mentally disabled children. This was essential for his future educational work. Maria Montessori was influenced by ...... middle of paper ...... or the natural psychological development of a child. Although a set of practices exists under the name "Montessori," the Association Montessori International (AMI) and the American Montessori Society (AMS) cite these elements as essential.
