    Texting, techspeak, and tweens: The relationship between text messaging and English grammar skills by Drew P. Cingel and S. Shyam Sundar (2012), is an article which discusses the link between text messaging among adolescents and poor English grammar skills (Cingel & Sundar, 2012). Cingel began the study as a student investigating the effect of texting on grammatical skills, after receiving text messages from his nieces, which were incomprehensible. (July 26, 2012). Cingel teamed up with S. Shyam Sundar, distinguished professor of communications and co-director of the Media Effects Research Lab at Penn State.
