The First CrusadesThe first of the Crusades began in 1095 when Christians responded to Pope Urban's call to go to war against the Muslims. The First Crusade captured Jerusalem in 1099 and achieved its goal. The Crusades were not localized to a specific location since they were always on the move. The first crusade took place in Israel. The Crusades moved from Europe to Palestine and took place between 1095 and 1291. The Christians wanted to retake Jerusalem. Christians wanted to reclaim Jerusalem because that's where Jesus spent most of his life and that's where he was crucified. The Muslims wanted it because they had religious beliefs in Jerusalem. Their founder Muhammad lived there. There was a huge shrine right where Muhammad once sat. The weapons they used. The soldiers of the Crusades used very hot weapons....
